Almost half of menclothing is bought by women. This is one of the results of the GfK Panel Services research for men’s fashion. Two out of three men take there partner to go shopping.
The research is based on the answers of 5000 men that are a member of the GfK Consumer Jury Panel.
They point out that women buy the cheaper clothing while men buy the more expensive clothes themselves.
Only 32 % of the men’s clothing is paid by their partner.

VAN EENMANSZAAK TOT EUROPESE SPELER

 

Van Laere International produceert een uitgebreid assortiment van outdoor-, vrijetijds- en werkkleding. Denk daarbij vooral aan veelzijdige ademende en waterdichte recreatieve kleding van technisch hoogstaande kwaliteit met extra aandacht voor sneldrogende en winddichte stoffen.

De geschiedenis gaat terug naar 1976, toen Mr. Philippe Van Laere kleding opkocht, en doorverkocht. De eenmanszaak groeide en geleidelijk vond Van Laere Int. zijn roeping. De oprichting van het eigen outdoormerk Parks®, in 1995, was een gouden zet. In 2000 deed Van Laere Int. dat nog eens over met free2.be®: een lijn voor de hobbyist en werkkledij. Naast deze twee sterkhouders steunt Van Laere Int. op een derde pijler, private productions. Op vraag van onder meer doorverkopers, drukkers en borduurders produceert Van Laere Int. promotionele accessoires en kleding om campagnes te ondersteunen. In 2006 tekende Parks® voor 67% van de omzet ,free2.be® voor 27%, en private productions 6%. De markt groeit, zegt zaakvoerder Mr. Philippe Van Laere “Outdoorkleding interpreteerde men vroeger als actieve kleding. Nu zien consumenten dit veel ruimer, ze zien het meer als vrijetijdskleding.” Daardoor wordt de afzetmarkt ruimer, maar stijgt de concurrentie. Gevolg: zware druk op de prijzen.  

De productie gebeurt in Azië, Afrika en er is zelfs nog steeds productie in Europa zegt Mr. Philippe Van Laere. “De tijd dat Azië spotgoedkoop was, en dat alles kon, is voorbij. Door de grote afstand zijn ze trager, aanvoertermijnen zijn veel langer, wat hen minder flexibel maakt.” De klanten _voornamelijk de retail dat voor 80% tekent_ zijn sterk vertegenwoordigd in de Benelux, maar ook in de rest van Europa vindt Van Laere International een mooie afzet.
